   Baroque Splendors of Le Marais 

This second tour of Le Marais is focused on its Golden Age of this district, the Baroque period (i.e. 1620-1720), when splendid mansions were built, attracting the beautiful people in their "salons" & secrects gardens.

 

This precious heritage makes Le Marais one of the best loved district of Paris, attracting a mixed crowd of fashion addicts, food lovers and LBGT friends.

Highlights of the tour :

  • St Paul St Louis church, an incredible baroque church famous for its preachers,

  • Place des Vosges, meeting point of the elegant and aristocratic youngsters in the 1630's,

  • Hôtel Carnavalet, Hôtel de Lamoignon and Hôtel de Domon, good examples of the XVIth century hôtels particuliers and their possible variations,

  • The amazing gardens of Picasso Museum and Hôtel de Rohan-Soubise,  

  • The Jewish Art & History museum and its secret garden, dedicated to Anne Franck

  • Tour will end with an informal walking tour rue des Rosiers et rue des Ecouffes, famous for the kosher delicacies and the LBGT friendly area...
